Eplan provides software and service solutions in the fields of electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering. The company develops one of the world’s leading design software solutions for machine and panel builders. Eplan is also the ideal partner to streamline challenging engineering processes.
Both standardised as well as customised interfaces to ERP and PLM/PDM systems ensure data consistency along the whole value chain. Working with Eplan means boundless communication across all engineering disciplines. No matter whether small or large enterprises: Customers can apply their expertise more efficiently. Worldwide, Eplan supports 73,100 customers. Eplan wants to grow further with customers and partners and pushes integration and automation in engineering forward. More than ECAD | EPLAN Electric P8
EPLAN Electric P8 is a consistent, integrated and fast engineering system for you to plan and design the electrical engineering for machines and plant systems. The software supports 2D computer-aided engineering and a wide variety of engineering methods: from manual creation to standardized and template-based approaches. The project data, once entered into the schematic, becomes the foundation for the automated completion of machine and plant system documentation. In short, EPLAN Electric P8 electrical design software offers you much more than “just” drawing schematics and circuit diagrams.
Advancing from documentation to 3D layout | EPLAN Pro Panel
EPLAN Pro Panel electrical engineering design software gives you a stable foundation for automating and industrializing your panel building. It enables 3D design and construction of electrical design projects like control cabinets, switchgear systems and power distribution systems for energy distribution. EPLAN Pro Panel software provides you an integrated solution for control cabinet design.
Plug & play for cables | Eplan Cable proD
Eplan Cable proD is a solution for quick and easy cabling of machines. The software digitises the corresponding designs and provides the information required for production and assembly. This means that prefabricated cables can also be used. Precision is required when constructing machines – all the way through to the final steps: if the cables don’t have the correct lengths or have been incorrectly routed, it is not uncommon for entire commissioning processes to have to be postponed. Eplan has therefore dedicated an entire software solution for planning the corresponding machine cabling: Eplan Cable proD. This also makes it easy to order prefabricated cables. Time-consuming trimming and offcuts are now a thing of the past.
Intuitive assembly and clever wiring | EPLAN Smart Production
Eplan Smart Production is an assistance system for employees in control cabinet manufacturing. Using checklists, employees are led through individual component installation and control cabinet wiring processes. The system provides the information needed for each work step. A 3D model of the control cabinet provides an even better understanding of which action is currently required. The employee assistance system increases efficiencies in production and significantly reduces the complexity of all tasks. The consolidated display of relevant information, supplemented by additional information that can be called up as needed, saves on time wasted searching through project documentation. This greatly reduces manufacturing times. At the same time, new technicians can be trained much faster thanks to the installation and wiring instructions automatically generated from the digital twin of the machine. The checklist is further used to document each step of the process directly at the workstation in workshops and production facilities. As a result, the monitoring dashboard provides full transparency about the progress of production for all orders.
Comprehensive access, easy collaboration | Eplan Collaboration Apps
Engineering work made easier Eplan means next-level solutions for electrical engineering. But this isn’t just about developing highly specialised products, it’s much more about designing and creating efficient processes. This is also the goal for our Collaboration Apps, which enable location-independent collaboration and direct access to Eplan Projects and relevant data. Depending on the expansion level chosen, the Collaboration Apps are automatically included in the scope of services for Eplan Electric P8, Eplan Pro Panel and Eplan Preplanning. Starting with the Eplan Platform 2026, the corresponding, previously optional extensions are now automatically included, and users will be able to use the collaboration apps to make their processes more efficient and consistent. This applies to all project phases and different industries – from basic to detailed engineering and manufacturing to commissioning and operation. Collaboration will thus become even easier and more efficient.
Transparency for your product development processes | Eplan ERP/PDM Integration Suite
Your added value through a transparent product development process Is there a gap between the ECAD system and the ERP or PDM system in your company? EPLAN Integration Suite combines these two worlds so that your ECAD data from EPLAN Platform are also saved in your ERP/PDM system. This ensures centralized product data management. Project participants thus have access to up-to-date project or article data and documentation at all times.
