FAULHABER BXI
FAULHABER BXI: Made for the Next Generation of Robotics - Integrated drive technology for dynamic, human-like movements. Into the future of drive technology with new dimensions and features for robotics: The new BXI is the most powerful integrated drive system in the FAULHABER portfolio thus far and was developed to meet new requirements of modern robotic applications. Human-like movements place extremely high demands on precision, force and dynamics––from delicate grip movements to powerful, coordinated joint movements. This is where the FAULHABER BXI steps in. The internal rotor motor of the 9317 BXI G series combines robustness and exceptional compactness and defines new standards for integrated drive systems in robotics. With a maximum torque of up to 20 Nm, it enables dynamic movements, fast reaction times and a highly precise movement control. The motor covers a voltage range of up to 50 V and, thanks to the available interfaces and an installation length of just 34 mm, is easy to integrate in existing system architectures. The BXI is thereby especially well suited for applications in which every millimeter, every gram and––above all––high power density are decisive, e.g., as a compact joint drive in humanoid robots.Perfectly matched to the overall system In combination with the FAULHABER MC5010 Motion Controller, an optimally matched overall system is created for torque-sensitive and highly precise positioning tasks. At the same time, motor and drive are reliably protected, while commissioning is particularly simple and efficient thanks to the Motion Manager software. The FAULHABER BXI thus offers a high-performance, future-oriented solution for demanding robotic applications in which innovation, application and new technology interact seamlessly.

Linear DC-Servomotors
QUICKSHAFT® Linear DC-Servomotors bring linear motion to new dimensions. These high performance, miniature, linear motors consist of a solid stator housing and coil assembly and a multi-pole magnetic forcer rod. High power magnets help the motor achieve its excellent force and dynamic speed performance.

Brushless DC-Servomotor Series 3274...BP4
In the fight for high performance with minimum weight, FAULHABER with the development of its series 3274 BP4 has put a new champion in the ring. The brushless DC servomotor, measuring 32 mm in diameter and 74 mm in length, has a huge continuous torque of 165 mNm. Furthermore, it weighs in at just under 320 g, which is half that of conventional motors with comparable power. The four-pole brushless DC servomotor is ideal for applications in which high power and dynamic start/stop operation with the lowest possible total weight is an important factor, for example in link drives of humanoid robots, electric grippers used in process automation or high-performance traction drives used in inspection robotics.

Integrated encoder IEH3‐4096
The new IEH3‐4096 series from FAULHABER is the most compact 3‐channel encoder of its class. The new model delivers two square‐wave signals as well as an additional index channel. It offers a higher resolution, an extended operating temperature range and improved speed control, especially in the low speed range. The encoder increases the length of the motor by just 1.4 mm and can be combined with numerous precious‐metal commutated DC‐micromotors of the FAULHABER SR series measuring 15 to 22 mm in diameter. Since they are used in extremely small machines and assemblies, size is a decisive factor.

Series 1024...SR
FAULHABER has launched a new generation of metal brush commutated motors, the 1024…SR series with a diameter of 10mm. In combination with a gearhead, its output torque can achieve 300 mNm, twice that of similar products on the market. Thanks to a superior torque/speed ratio (flat slope) the motor can handle varying loads at reduced speed variations, thus granting smooth control. This performance is achieved with very low noise and vibration levels. A wide range of matching speed and motion controllers, encoders, and gearheads allow for optimal adaption in high-demand applications like portable devices or optical equipment.

Feel the Power - Motion Controllers for a new generation
Decentralised intelligence and the capacity for real-time communication with higher level process control technology and flexibility in usage applications are requirements for cutting-edge drive systems within the context of networked industry (cf. company box) has taken appropriate action and developed a new generation of motion controllers.

Compact DC-motor with high torque
The new 1016…SR series from FAULHABER expands the proven motor family to compact DC motors with precious-metal commutation. Together with the already introduced 0816…SR and 1024…SR series, these drives, combinable with suitable FAULHABER drives and encoders, are ideally suited for applications where maximum power is required in the most compact spaces. The new 1016…SR motor series reaches a continuous torque of 0.92 mNm at a length of only 16 mm and a diameter of 10 mm. Its Δn/ΔM characteristic curve has an especially flat slope of 5953 rpm/mNm ,3 V and therefore makes it possible to have extremely soft transitions during a load change. Further strengths of the motor are its low power consumption, high energy-efficiency and minimal vibration and low audible noise. It is therefore suited as a drive for applications with small dimensions and very high requirements, such as for precision tools, optical devices or active prostheses. The 1016…SR DC-micromotor with a wide range of gearheads can be combined like the other motors in the SR family. It reaches a torque of up to 300 mNm with the 12/4 planetary gearhead. For applications where high-precision positioning is essential, zero backlash spur gearheads are available as a compact alternative. With these, undesirable play can be reduced or eliminated. Optical and magnetic encoders with a resolution of up to 256 pulses per motor shaft revolutions make highly precise control of the drive possible. In addition, it can be combined with numerous controllers, from the miniaturised SC 1801 speed controller up to the MC 3002 motion controller for a complete solution.

More power for pumps
With the 1935…BRC brushless DC-Motor, the motor manufacturer FAULHABER has brought an all around optimized version of the successful product 1935…BRE on the market. The new motor achieves a continuous torque of 3.5 mNm while still retaining its compact design, making it more powerful than its predecessor model. Its direction of rotation is reversible. At the same time, the speed range was increased to 1,000 to 11,000 min-1 and the efficiency was further improved. The temperature range has also increased significantly, ranging from -25 C to 85 C. The new high-performance bearings allow for a prolonged service life. The proven connection concept of the 1525...BRC and 3153...BRC series was now standardised in the 1935...BRC. The 1935…BRC has an integrated Speed Controller and thus its own electronic control. This facilitates speed control by means of a PI controller with external setpoint input. With its dimensions of 19 mm in diameter and 35 mm in length, the motor is adapted for installation in very restricted spaces and thanks to its rugged design it is suitable for applications with high loads. An integrated current limiting protects the motor from overload, the controller setting can be parametrized via the programming adapter. Typical fields of application of the 1935…BRC are primarily applications in pumps, for example for laboratory devices, inkjet printers, medical technology and diagnostics, fuel cells or in battery-powered systems. It can also be used in robotics, tool technology, industry automation, as well as measurement and testing technology.

The flyweight that packs a heavyweight punch
FAULHABER has extended the extremely powerful BP4 product family with the brushless DC-Servomotor 2264…BP4. As well as having an outstanding ratio of torque to size and weight, the miniature drive comes with integrated sensors and a wide speed range. main text The 4-pole motor achieves a torque of 59 mNm with a weight of just 140 g and a diameter of 22 mm. Furthermore, the 2264…BP4 reaches up to 34,500 revolutions per minute. The reason for the outstanding performance is the innovative segment winding of the coil, which was developed for the brushless DC-Motors of the BP4 family. Thanks to the overlapping, nested, individually wound segments, an especially large amount of copper can be accommodated in the coil. The high winding symmetry with minimal losses and appropriately high efficiency is a desirable side effect.

Shift your range of possibilities
Planetary gearhead Series 26/1R and 32/3R. FAULHABER extends its new Series R metal planetary gearhead portfolio beyond the existing 20/1R by introducing the new 26/1R and 32/3R Series gearheads. These new products with 26 mm and 32 mm diameter represent the evolution of previous 26/1 and 32/3 gearheads maintaining the same geometry to guarantee mechanical compatibility with their predecessors. As outcome, the output power available for impulsive cycle operation has been more than doubled compared to the previous generation. Such performance improvement were made possible through deep design analysis, extensive testing and meticulous validation. 26/1R and 32/R significantly improves the input speed by achieving continuous input speed respectively up to 9000 rpm and 8000 rpm, resulting in an impressive 100% increase. In intermittent operation conditions, the input speed can reach up to 10000 rpm and 9000 rpm to exploit at best DC or Brushless motor capability. Maximum output torque has also been enhanced to exhibit up to 4 Nm and up to 8 Nm in continuous operation. The gearheads are available with one to five stages, and the span of the 13 possible reduction gear ratios ranges from 3.7:1 to 1526:1. The output shaft has no axial play thanks to the preloaded ball bearing. They are able to operate in the typical temperature range conditions of -10°C to +125°C and options are also available for lower temperature like -45°C to +100°C. 26/1R and 32/3R can be combined with many motors using various technologies like DC motors, brushless motors and stepper motors with diameter starting from 23 mm up to 35 mm.
