About us
Metal Work is an industrial group specialized in the design, production, and marketing of components for automation, with headquarters in Concesio, in the province of Brescia, Italy.
The group currently consists of 59 companies located worldwide.
Metal Work S.p.A., the parent company founded in 1967, has gradually but consistently expanded its production and commercial structure to become one of the most significant entities in the pneumatics for automation sector. It offers a product range across five lines: actuators, valves, air treatment units, fittings, and handling components. Metal Work is constantly seeking solutions and products that meet the market new demands. This is reflected in the continuous expansion of its product range and the development of new applications and customized solutions. In recent years, the offering has expanded to include the production of electrical components and vacuum technology.
Currently, over 500 employees work at the Concesio (BS) facilities, while the Italian and foreign commercial structure is composed of over 800 people. Since 1992, Metal Work has been certified according to ISO 9001. In 2000, the certification of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001 was added. In 2007, Metal Work applied the British standard OHSAS 18001 to ensure a Worker Health and Safety Management System, later transitioning to ISO 45001 in 2019. All the mentioned certifications were issued by the German certifying body DEKRA ITS, accredited by TGA. Since 2016, Metal Work has also been certified as Elite, a project by Borsa Italiana in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Confindustria, and ABI, designed to support the growth of SMEs.

Vane rotary actuator Series R5 ø25
Metal Work expands its range of Vane rotary actuators Series R5 by introducing the new size ø25. Also the new size is completely manufactured in Metal Work and has construction features similar to the previous ø16 one: compact body in anodized aluminium, through rod with over-moulded seal, support ball bearing and versions with different rotation angles. It can be either fixed directly to the wall (using the threads on the casing), or by means of an L-shaped bracket (foot) which can be fixed to the front or rear, or even using a sturdy front fixing accessory. On the rear side it is additionally possible to mount an accessory for adjusting the rotation angle, on which special elastic stops can also be mounted.
Proportional precision pressure regulator SYNTRONIC Series
The range of Metal Work Proportional precision pressure regulators now includes a new device: SYNTRONIC. The SYNTRONIC Series is characterized by the main body, made of technopolymer, which mounts interchangeable 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" bushings. It allows the achievement of a high flow rate in regulation (up to 2,800 Nl/min with 3/8" bushings). The electronic part - completely new - is contained in a protective technopolymer casing, just as is the easy-to-read 3-digit type display. Syntronic can be controlled remotely via a cable connection and M12x1 connector accepting commands in Volts or mA. The central part, made of aluminium, contains two rolling diaphragms which allow a high flow rate and excellent dynamic behaviour, thanks to the reduction of friction. Also for Syntronic the downstream pressure is relieved when the upstream pressure is set to zero; this allows, for example, to place the regulator between a valve and a cylinder because the air can flow in both directions: towards the cylinder with regulated pressure and back to the relieving valve.
EB 80 BOXI 6-8-12 valve versions
Range widening: EB 80 BOXI 6-8-12 valve versions EB 80 Boxi, one of the most successful products in recent years, is now available in the new 6, 8 and 12 valve versions. The new islands, equipped with a 26-pole D-Sub multipolar connection, are available in 6 versions, depending on application needs: 6 positions and 6 electric controls (*) 6 positions and 12 electric controls 8 positions and 8 electric controls (*) 8 positions and 16 electric controls 12 positions and 12 electric controls (*) 12 positions and 24 electric controls (*) only valves V-G-J-Y-N can be used For each version it is possible to order islands with or without valves. The new BOXI range shows all the technical features of the 4 valve version, and in particular: all EB 80 valves can be used, from double 2/2 to high flow valves, from common 5/2 up to the shut off valve EB 80 multifunction modules can be applied the island can be fed from 12 VDC (-10%) up to 24 VDC (+30%) the island is made up of pass-through bases equipped with single or double electric control equipped with interchangeable cartridge fittings low electrical consumption: only 0.3 W to keep each valve controlled advanced diagnostics (open circuit, overload, over-under voltage) with signaling led CE, EAC, UL-CSA and ATEX certifications Moreover, on islands with 6, 8 or 12 positions it is possible, when ordering, to request a module for additional pneumatic supply and exhaust, inserted downstream of the solenoid valves.
