Insulation monitor RN 5897/010
Insulation monitoring for modern IT systems The demand for the availability of machines and apparatus in the region of factory machinery and process technology is constantly increasing. The requirement for this is a functioning and reliable power supply. Unexpected insulation faults in the system can lead to unwanted power supply failures, and even cause personal injury or property damage. This is why insulation monitoring equipment is typically used in IT systems. The insulation monitor RN 5897/010 from the VARIMETER IMD series by DOLD was developed especially for use with modern power supplies. These are often comprised of converters, thyristor regulators, and direct current components. Through EMV interference suppression measures, high leakage capacitance onto the ground is present. The RN 5897/010 is suited for system leakage capacitances of up to 1000 μF, and for voltages up to AC/DC 230 V. Using the additional ballast unit RR 5898, it is possible to install the unit in systems with voltages of up to AC 1000 V and DC 1500 V. Besides an adjustable alarm threshold, the insulation monitor also has an adjustable pre-alarm threshold. A multicoloured LCD screen constantly updates stating the current insulation value. The insulation monitors guarantee additional surveillance over current-free networks. A selective earth fault detection of L+ and L- enables quick fault localisation.

Insulation monitor RN 5897/020
Insulation monitoring for DC charging stations The number of electric vehicles is constantly increasing and will grow even faster in the future. This will also drive forward the expansion of the charging station infrastructure, as DC charging stations are the first choice when electric vehicles need to be charged in the shortest possible time. Electrical safety must be guaranteed during the charging process. For this purpose, an unearthed DC power supply system (IT-grid) with insulation monitoring is set up and monitored by means of an insulation monitoring device (IMD). The user must never be exposed to high voltages (up to 1000 V) at any time. The insulation monitor RN 5897/020 of the VARIMETER IMD family is used especially for DC charging stations according to the IEC/EN 61851-23:2014/AC:2016-06 standard and monitors the charging process from the charging station into the vehicle. The device is characterised by the short response delay of ≤ 1s, a rated voltage up to DC 1000 V with coupling device and the detection of asymmetrical as well as symmetrical insulation faults. The integrated voltage measurement ensures reliable detection of the insulation resistance in the IT grid. The insulation monitor also features a selftest. This takes place automatically after power-on and after every full operating hour.

Insulation monitor RN 5897/300
Safety for mobile generators The insulation monitor RN 5897/300 from the VARIMETER IMD series by DOLD was developed especially for use with mobile generators. In mobile applications, such as in emergency vehicles or on construction sites, electrical energy must be used to reliably prevent injuries and property damage. Furthermore, mobile generators need to guarantee immediate operational readiness, without requiring time-consuming procedures to set up safeguards (such as installing and calibrating grounding systems etc.). That’s why the safeguard “electrical separation with insulation monitoring and shutdown” is available. It triggers an automated shutdown within < 1 s if the insulation resistance sinks below 100 Ω / V. The RN 5897/300 meets these demands, and fulfills the requirements of DIN VDE 0100-551 for mobile generators. The insulation monitor is suitable for system leakage capacitance of up to 30 μF, and is designed for universal use in ungrounded AC, DC and AC/DC networks. Besides an adjustable alarm threshold, the insulation monitor also has an adjustable pre-alarm threshold. A multicolored LED status light keeps users informed continuously on the current operating status. The device enables reliable monitoring, even in a network without current.

Integrated servo motors
The new ACTILINK-S integrated servomotors from Synapticon are a pioneering solution for integrated servomotors and are unique in their class. The position determination of the drive controller is based on Kübler sensor technology. The growing demand for decentralized automation in machine building and factory automation calls for new concepts in terms of both space saving and performance optimization, areas in which Kübler traditionally has a very strong global presence, market knowledge and application experience. While many customers in this business segment require different types of encoders, integrated servo drives are naturally also found here. The new integrated drives are available in 60 mm and 80 mm sizes with an output of 200 to 1000 watts. They enable a considerable reduction in installation space and costs compared to conventional drive and motor solutions, as they replace several components and functions in a classic servo axis. A unique thermal concept ensures maximum efficiency with up to 3 times higher dynamics compared to conventional drive solutions. A hybrid single-cable technology replaces the classic three cables per axis. The connection is made via FSoE. Further protocols and safety functions are being planned.

Intelligent measurement and control system for PV systems
The structure is based on a decentralized and self-sufficient system with so-called "SmartGridBoxes" from Camille Bauer. The individual states of the distribution boxes (low voltage) are recorded dynamically and in real time. The measured values are transmitted to a decentralized leader via LTE router, IoT gateway or broadband. From there, the status is compared with the target values. Depending on the difference, the inverters receive a control command via a controller for green power generation systems so that PV systems only feed into the grid in stages when this is actually beneficial to the grid.

Interactive Quality Contol
This solution serves as an interactive dashboard for manual operational data acquisition in quality control. Through a touchscreen display, workers can interact with the dashboard and make entries on the items inspected. If an item is without defects, the worker can log this by pressing the “OK” button. If an item is faulty, the error can be specified in more detail using the corresponding buttons. Based on this data, the dashboard provides your employees with an overview of their own and neighboring production lines. Thanks to the real-time visualization, they also see immediately if a certain error has become disproportionately frequent. This allows them to react quickly and optimize the corresponding production process immediately. All the data collected through the touchscreen is stored and persisted in a list in Peakboard Hub. This allows you to use the data not only for a real-time overview, but also for historical analysis. The long-term analysis can be performed either via this dashboard or using a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Click. Download the template now for free and customize it to your individual needs or your company’s corporate design. For even easier usability, all scripts in this template were created using Peakboard Building Blocks, our low-code script editor.

Interactive Worker Assistance
Inefficient assembly processes and frequent errors lead to production delays and quality problems. There is often a lack of clear guidance and support for workers to perform their tasks efficiently. Lack of visibility into the progress of assembly jobs makes it difficult to effectively manage production flow and identify bottlenecks early. Overcoming these challenges requires a worker assistance system that provides clear guidance, real-time feedback, and comprehensive monitoring of assembly processes. Peakboard’s interactive dashboard provides your workers with all the information and guidance they need to complete assembly jobs accurately and error-free. By combining descriptive texts, images, technical drawings and material lists, the assembly steps are visualized in a clear and understandable way. The system also records important parameters during the assembly process to enable real-time monitoring and evaluation. This includes, for example, recording the time required and counting the OK and NOK parts at the end of assembly. In addition, you can directly reorder the required materials in the internal warehouse logistics or, if necessary, report problems to production managers to reduce waiting times.

Functions - Metrological verification of compliance with harmonic limits in report form - Identification of customer systems with impermissibly high grid perturbations - Recognition of existing interactions between the grid and the customer system (e.g. compensation effects) Benefit - Avoidance of investments in unnecessary mitigation measures - Consideration of faults in the neutral conductor for customer systems remote from the transformer - More reliable operation of existing and future grids with more efficient use of the grid infrastructure - Increased security of supply - No in-depth knowledge required to evaluate the harmonic contribution - Unknown system parameters can be replaced by standard values 4 functions in one device 1. Fault recorder using event recording in accordance with IEC 61000-4-30 Ed. 3, Class A 2. Conformity assessment of the power quality (e.g. according to EN 50160, IEEE 519, GB/T ...) 3. NEW: Evaluation of harmonic emissions (e.g. according to DACHCZ Ed. 3, IEEE 519, DTR, IEEE 1547, GB/T...) 4. Recording of load profiles, short-term load peaks and meter values
