Sealing technology
Seals play a crucial role in a wide range of industries. From the automotive industry to food processing
right through to power generation. In a dynamic environment where precision and efficiency are essential, sealing technology offers solutions to prevent leaks, minimise contamination of the sealing system and ensure smooth operational processes.
Seals made of elastomers, polyurethanes and thermoplastics are becoming increasingly popular in many areas of industry, often as early as the design phase. The main task of seals is to prevent unwanted media transitions and to exclude contamination of the sealing system.
In order to provide customers with optimum support, a great deal of experience is required when designing a seal, taking into account a wide range of factors: from operating media, pressures and temperatures to speeds, surfaces and the right choice of material.
Industrial applications are becoming increasingly demanding. For example, protection against product contamination by foreign particles is a top priority. Certified materials, for example for O-rings or flat gaskets such as FDA, EU 1935/2004, USP Ch. 87 + Ch. 88 - Class VI, DVGW, 3-A Sanitary Standard, drinking water approval, etc., can significantly minimise economic risks.
