Metal Work is an industrial group specialized in the design, production, and marketing of components for automation, with headquarters in Concesio, in the province of Brescia, Italy. The group currently consists of 59 companies located worldwide. Metal Work S.p.A., the parent company founded in 1967, has gradually but consistently expanded its production and commercial structure to become one of the most significant entities in the pneumatics for automation sector. It offers a product range across five lines: actuators, valves, air treatment units, fittings, and handling components. Metal Work is constantly seeking solutions and products that meet the market new demands. This is reflected in the continuous expansion of its product range and the development of new applications and customized solutions. In recent years, the offering has expanded to include the production of electrical components and vacuum technology. Currently, over 500 employees work at the Concesio (BS) facilities, while the Italian and foreign commercial structure is composed of over 800 people. Since 1992, Metal Work has been certified according to ISO 9001. In 2000, the certification of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001 was added. In 2007, Metal Work applied the British standard OHSAS 18001 to ensure a Worker Health and Safety Management System, later transitioning to ISO 45001 in 2019. All the mentioned certifications were issued by the German certifying body DEKRA ITS, accredited by TGA. Since 2016, Metal Work has also been certified as Elite, a project by Borsa Italiana in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Confindustria, and ABI, designed to support the growth of SMEs. Sustainability has always been part of the company's culture. Sustainable practices from economic, social, and environmental perspectives are outlined in the recently published 2022 Sustainability Report.

      Negal Engineering AG

Negal Engineering AG – Engineering that works Negal Engineering AG stands for the development and implementation of demanding electronic solutions. The focus lies on power electronics, switch-mode power supplies, LED systems, and custom hardware development. Projects are supported from the initial idea through to series production, with a clear focus on quality, functionality, and practical implementation. The strength of Negal lies not in a single product, but in the ability to understand complex systems. Many projects begin where existing solutions no longer work or reach their limits. This is where structured thinking, technical depth, and practical experience lead to solutions that perform reliably in real-world applications. System understanding as a foundation Every development starts with a thorough analysis. The key is not optimizing individual components, but understanding the interaction of the entire system. Electronics, mechanics, thermal behavior, and EMC influence each other. Optimizing one area in isolation often creates issues elsewhere. That is why a holistic approach is applied from the very beginning. Decisions made during the concept phase define the success of the project. Using simulation tools and experience, potential risks are identified early and addressed before they become problems. Power electronics across a wide range A core area of expertise is power electronics. Solutions are developed for a wide range of applications, from compact designs to complex high-power systems. This includes: Switch-mode power supplies across various power levels Voltage ranges from low voltage to high voltage applications High current systems Applications requiring fast and precise control The focus is always on efficiency, thermal stability, and long-term reliability. A solution is only considered successful when it performs consistently under real operating conditions. Custom switch-mode power supplies Standard products often do not meet specific requirements. Therefore, power supplies are designed individually for each application. Both technical and economic aspects are taken into account. The goal is a solution that is not only functional but also manufacturable. Typical development steps include: Topology selection and design Component dimensioning Efficiency and loss optimization Consideration of manufacturing processes Preparation for series production This results in robust, reliable, and cost-effective systems. LED systems and lighting technology Developing LED systems requires an interdisciplinary approach. Beyond light output, electronics, thermal management, and control systems are essential. A reliable solution requires precise coordination of all components. This includes: LED drivers and control gear Dimming and control concepts Interfaces such as DALI Wireless control solutions Thermal design and simulation Thermal management is especially critical for system lifetime. Simulations allow early identification and optimization of critical areas. EMC integrated from the beginning Electromagnetic compatibility is essential for market readiness. Addressing EMC too late often leads to delays and additional costs. Therefore, EMC is integrated directly into the development process: EMC-compliant circuit design Optimized PCB layout Measurements on prototypes Targeted improvements The goal is a product that meets all relevant standards without unnecessary iterations. From idea to series production Projects follow a structured process: Concept and analysis Definition of requirements and system architecture Development Circuit design, layout, and prototyping Validation Testing, measurement, and optimization Industrialization Preparation for manufacturing Production Assembly of electronic modules and complete devices This structured approach ensures efficiency and reliability throughout the project. Practical engineering approach The focus is always on real-world application. Decisions are made with the final product and its use in mind. Key considerations include: Behavior under continuous operation Thermal stress on components Component availability Assembly and manufacturing effort These factors are integrated early in the development process. Collaboration as a key factor Successful projects are built on clear communication and trust. Key principles include: Reliable and transparent communication Fast coordination Technical depth in discussions The goal is a collaboration that is efficient and solution-oriented. Continuous development and expertise Technology evolves continuously. Through collaboration with research institutions and partners, knowledge stays up to date. New approaches are integrated when they provide real value. The focus remains on practical benefit rather than trends. Typical application areas Solutions are used in: Industrial automation Energy systems Mechanical engineering Medical technology Lighting systems These applications often require high reliability and long service life. When challenges become complex Many projects begin when: existing solutions fail requirements are unclear or complex time pressure exists high reliability is required In such cases, a structured approach leads to clear and workable solutions. Commitment to quality Every solution follows clear principles: Technically sound Reliable in operation Economically viable Designed for long-term use The goal is a product that performs consistently in everyday use.
